Installing Office 2010

Note: If you get an error, please continue reading the directions.

·         Open My Computer

·         Open the O: drive

·         Open Software folder

·         Open Office 2010 folder

·         Scroll down double click on Setup

·         In the box that comes up click Run

·         Check little box (I accept the terms of this agreement)

·         Click Continue

·         Click Install Now

·         If you get an error go down below to the error instructions. Something like this: An Office 2003 installation on your computer is corrupted and setup cannot continue.  Remove or repair the Office 2003 product and re-run setup.

·         Depending on your location this may take several minutes

·         When it is done, click Close

·         It may ask you to reboot, do this if it asks you to

·         Upon rebooting open All Programs

·         Click on Microsoft Office

·         Drag or send icons to Desktop

·         Open Word

·         When the box comes up in Word click (Use Recommended Setting) then click OK

·         It will ask you for a code (this may not happen for about 10 days), please put in a workorder and tech will come put in the code, in the meantime you can continue to work in all the office products

 

If during the beginning of the install if you receive this error:

An Office 2003 installation on  your computer is corrupted and setup cannot continue. Remove or repair the Office 2003 product and re-run setup.  You are going to remove it – repair does not work.

Click OK

Go to Start

Control Panel

Add or remove programs

Go down to Microsoft Office Professional 2003

Go over to the right and click Remove

Then click Yes

This will take a while to remove the office suite.

Then go back up to the top and do the installation.
